Easter Egg Hunt at Zion Baptist Church
What a joy is was to see the eager, happy faces before the annual Zion Easter Egg Hunt 2019, on April 20th. And these were just the youth workers and parents of the children. But the wide smiles and excitement was truly present on the faces of the youngsters, ready to hunt for Easter Eggs and more on the green lawn at Zion Baptist Church. As the children proceeded out of the church, they were lined up to get the announcement to “Go!” Those 3 and under gathered their eggs from the green spaces just in front of the education building. The older kids raced out into the big field to quickly find eggs to fill their baskets.

The weather was beautiful, and the Zion Easter Egg Hunt 2019 was another great success. We give thanks to Our Heavenly Father for his hedge of protection around everyone involved. There were no injuries; no arguments. And no sad faces; from the eldest to the youngest. Special thanks to the organizers of the event, and to Sr. Pastor Dayvid L. Griggs, Jr. Thank you to those who helped sort the candy, and stuff and hide the dozens and dozens of eggs for the children to hunt. And also a big thank you to those who contributed the candy and plastic eggs and more. Lastly to the parents who brought their children and grandchildren out to participate; and to those kiddos who went on the hunt for the hidden treasures.
It’s Not About the Bunny, It’s About the Lamb!
It was all in good fun. But we ensure the kids know that Easter is not primarily about the candy, the eggs, or the bunny. It is about the Lamb. Our risen Saviour, who gave His life on the cross, that we might be saved. He lay in Joseph’s new tomb on Friday night, all day Saturday. But thanks be to God for the resurrection. Jesus got up, early, on Sunday morning, with all power in His hands. He is the Lamb of God!
